Today we are beginning our first round of book clubs! We have six groups on the go reading different books. In your group, make a prediction about the plot of your novel. Use the title, cover illustration, and any other text features to help you.

During writing practice, we are moving from writing one paragraph to writing multiple paragraphs. Here are some of the things we are thinking about when we write paragraphs:

Using an outline to organize our paragraphs

Indenting

Topic sentences and concluding sentences

Expanding our details

Using descriptive adjectives and verbs (juicy words!)

Proofreading
